- Prior to becoming a lawyer, David was a certified public accountant in the audit and forensic accounting practice groups of a large, international public accounting firm in New York City.
- He earned his J.D. law degree from Boston University, magna cum laude, in 1996. He earned his B.S. in accounting from Binghamton University in 1991.

Representative Matters
- Formation of new limited liability companies, drafting operating agreements and structuring joint ventures between landowners, investors, property managers, contractors, and developers.
- Acted as Ohio local counsel for the acquisition, development, financing, and opening of two of Ohio's casinos and one of Ohio's racinos, including land assemblage, historic landmarks, receivership purchases, foreclosure purchases, and joint venture financing.
- Assisted in the acquisition and redevelopment of a historic Atlanta inn.
- Represented purchaser in due diligence, acquisition and financing of 12 suite apartment building. Represented borrower in loan workout and deed in lieu of foreclosure of 950 apartment units to mortgage lender including release of personal guarantees. Represented mortgage lender in origination of non-recourse mortgage loans to apartment owners.
- Represented start-up companies in reviewing and negotiating leases for residential, office, retail, manufacturing, and industrial properties.
- Provide legal review and recommendations to high-net-worth individuals making private equity investments in medical office buildings, parking lots, shopping malls, and industrial buildings.
- Represented individuals purchasing and financing high-end residential homes and vacation homes, including the purchase of a condominium in the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem.
- Assisted with the land acquisition, site permitting, construction and construction loan financing for a large-scale auto collision repair facility in Northeast Ohio.
- Represented developer in acquisition, development, construction, raising private equity, and mortgage financing of four full-service hotels.
- Represented buyer of auto parts manufacturer purchased from state court appointed receivership.
- Provided real estate representation during sale of chemical manufacturing company. Provided real estate representation to integrated steel mill. Assisted in sale of integrated steel mill through bankruptcy.
- Represented seller of iron ore mining facility, represented lenders and coal mining companies in purchases, leasing, and financing of coal mine and iron ore companies. Represented seller in sale of high wall, strip mining and deep mine coal company.
- Acted as Ohio local counsel for purchase of mortgage loan and acquisition by deed in lieu of foreclosure of hotels.
- Represented distributor of home building products in sale of regional distribution center, acquisition of alternative site, and related IRS Section 1031 like kind tax deferred exchange.
- Represented both borrowers, banks and life insurance companies during mortgage loan workouts, forbearance agreements, and deeds in lieu of foreclosure, for strip centers, power centers, apartment buildings, office buildings and manufacturing facilities.
- Assisted snack food manufacturer in acquisition, construction and financing of LEED certified food manufacturing facility and headquarters.
- Tenant representation for leasing of full floor, class A office space in downtown Cleveland.
- Represented Ohio county in acquisition of 63 acres of downtown Cleveland waterfront property, including a foreclosure, eminent domain action, dockominiums, and submerged land lease.
- Represented national cardiologist group with acquisition of full-service hospital in Hawaii.
- Represented owners of downtown Cleveland office towers, retail arcade, parking garages, and hotels, with leasing, construction, historic redevelopment, low interest government loans and tax abatement.
- Assisted privately held and publicly traded laboratory companies with acquisition, leasing, tax abatement and relocation of large scale medical and environmental testing laboratories.
- Assisted medical school to relocate its main campus from Cleveland to Independence, Ohio, including acquisition, renovation, tax abatement, permitting, and zoning.
- Represented national land trust in acquisition and formation of a new, 150-acre park in Summit County, Ohio.
- Represented private golf clubs during sales, financings, and leasing to new operators.
